Connie S. Joy, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Joy is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons - an association of surgeons founded in 1913 in order to elevate the standards of surgical education and practice. She is certified as a plastic surgeon by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the only board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties to certify physicians who have specialized in plastic surgery. In addition, she is certified as a general surgeon by The American Board of Surgery, Inc.
Dr. Joy was the first graduating woman plastic surgeon from the University of California, Irvine, Plastic Surgery Department. Dr. Joy served as Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of California, Irvine, from 1980 to 1993. She served as chairman for the Plastic Surgery Division of Long Beach Memorial Medical Center 1992-1994.
Since 1979, Dr. Joy has established an extensive cosmetic surgery practice. Her surgery practice is focused towards a trusting relationship with her patients; the ultimate goal being to reconcile the patient's aesthetic objectives and expectations with the reality of plastic surgical procedures.
